Como respuesta a acciones inapropiadas en la gestión del arbolado público. Por voluntad de concretar en cambio acciones positivas.
How did BARRIOS ARBORESCENTES emerge? As an answer to incorrect actions by the local management of trees in public. A desire to turn them into future positive actions.

¿Qué objetivos persigue BARRIOS ARBORESCENTES?
Queremos un barrio más arbolado y biodiverso; que Coghlan esté repleto de árboles saludables y atendidos —también por los vecinos— con amor y conocimiento.
Queremos disfrutar de una vida plena en comunidad, sostener el trabajo grupal. Interactuar y colaborar con la Comuna.
Abonar una fructífera relación con ONGs especializadas en arbolado, con especial atención en la vegetación nativa.
Concientizar a la población sobre los beneficios que nos brindan los árboles y la necesidad de restablecer ecosistemas urbanos biodiversos.
Establecer redes de cooperación siguiendo un modelo replicable en otros barrios.
What are BARRIO ARBORESCENTES' objectives?
We would like a more biodiverse tree filled neighbourhood. For Coghlan to be full of healthy cared for trees —looked after by neighbours too— with love and knowledge.
We would like to enjoy a full community life, sustained by group work, interacting and collaborating with the Commune.
To nurture a fruitful relationship with NGOs who specialize in tree planting and their care, paying attention to native vegetation.
To create awareness in the population of the benefit of trees and the need to re-establish urban biodiverse ecosystems.

¿Qué acciones destacan?
- Relevamos planteras vacías.
- Registramos espacio disponible para abrir nuevas planteras.
- Nos vinculamos con vecinos que desean recibir un árbol en su vereda.
- Registramos necesidades en el arbolado existente.
- Llevamos adelante proyectos colaborativos, donde intervienen vecinos, ONGs y la Comuna, como el de Biocorredor Local
- Propiciamos comunicación con la Comuna, en pos de una positiva acción conjunta.
What actions stand out?
- We gather data of planting areas where a tree can be planted.
- We register spaces which could be opened into planting areas.
- We communicate with neighbours who would like to have a tree on their pavement.
- We carry out collaborative projects where neighbours, NGOs and the Commune take part, such as the Local Biocorridor.
- We encourage communication with the Commune, working towards positive actions together.

¿Cómo implementan la concientización sobre los beneficios del arbolado?
En el día a día, en todas nuestras acciones, es permanente la vocación de Barrios Arborescentes por concientizar, sensibilizar… está en las prioridades de cada una de sus integrantes.
Las plantaciones participativas entre vecinos, ONGs especializadas y la Comuna, en el marco de celebraciones en el Pasaje Prometeo, son especialmente convocantes. Éste es quizás el momento del año, al llegar la primavera, cuando Barrios Arborescentes se aboca a compartir la tarea con la comunidad de forma colectiva.
How do you implement awareness of the benefits of trees?
Day by day, through all of our actions, Barrios Arborescentes' vocation is permanent —creating awareness, causing sensitivity— these are present in every action of each of its members.
The participative planting among neighbours, specialized NGOs and the Commune - within this framework of celebration in the Pasaje Prometeo which is particularly appealing and well attended. Perhaps this is the moment of the year when spring arrives that Barrios Arborescentes is most focused on sharing the tasks with the community, collectively.

¿Cuántas planteras vacías registraron y solicitaron plantación a la Comuna?
Ochenta y cinco (85) en el Proyecto Anual 2020; y en el Proyecto Anual 2022, noventa y ocho (98) planteras vacías y cincuenta (50) espacios potenciales para abrir nuevas planteras.
